Green Juice Forever?

I don't want a quick fix.  I do not want a pill to make things tolerable.  I don't want more medical tests, blood draws, "best guesses".  I want to be healthy!  I have come to the conclusion that although Western Medicine is fantastic in an acute health crisis, it is equally dismal at dealing with chronic health issues.  I do not want to be fixed, I want to be healed.  I am embarking on a healing journey in which the primary focus will be nutrition.  Simple.  Feed your body the proper nutrients, with organic greens and raw foods, and allow it to heal itself.  Sounds too simple. Well, for me, it is.  For me it is not something "cool" to try but rather a necessity to live.  I am plagued with auto immune disorders that are ruling my day to day health and therefore ruling my life.  Green Juice to the rescue ...

I have been a vegetarian for years so this transition has not been as dramatic for me as it would be for my carnivore family.  I am learning more and more about health, nutrition, and healing every day.  I have amazing supportive friends and family who are assisting me in this process, one who is even doing this along side of me.

My goal is perfect, vibrant health.  I believe that not only can I halt the symptoms of my disease but that I can reverse them completely.  I have seen the results first hand.  Having a close family friend who just spent 2 weeks at The Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL. has inspired me.  In six weeks he has lost 30 pounds, reversed all his health issues (high colesterol, high blood pressure, stabilized blood sugar, asthma under control) without any medication.  His energy is amazing and he looks and feels the best that he has since I have know him, in 20+ years.  Well, this certainly inspired me to give it a try and I don't "try" anything half-way.

I bought an Omega 8006 juicer, which I love, at the Raw Diet website. The Raw Diet.com. Their service was outstanding and their products extremely well priced.  There was no tax or additional shipping fees!  A great deal.

I have been juicing 4oz of organic cucumber, 4oz of organic celery, 4oz of organic pea sprouts and 4oz of organic sunflower sprouts.  That is 16oz of super-healing, detoxifying, completely nutritious greens 3 times a day.  Additionally, I am juicing 2oz of fresh wheatgrass twice daily.  (this is why it is important to have a good juicer that is super easy to clean) Additionally, I am eating fresh greens, raw nuts and sprouts, and sprouted greens.  I am topping these with a dressing of olive oil, Braggs Amino Acids, and Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar.  Yum Yum.

Day 10 and I feel better than I have for a long time.  I have stopped taking my medication (Gabapentin) for the widespread pain and neuropathy that I have been experiencing for a year, without issues.  Not that I have much extra weight on me, but I am down 12 pounds from when I started.  Start weight 134lbs - today 122lbs. I am never hungry. My muscle tone has improved (I am doing yoga several times a week) and although my energy is still vacillating, it too is improved.  My brain is less foggy, my thoughts are more clear and my memory improving.  The difference is not drastic but it is noticeable!

I am scheduled to leave for the Hippocrates Health Institute on Saturday, July 23rd for their 3 week Life Change Program.  After seeing such miraculous results, it was much easier for me to make the decision.  It is costing me the same amount of money to focus on healing and education for 3 weeks as it did for my past two hospital stays. After 3 years, two hospital stays for 5 days+, numerous outpatient appointements, tests, etc., all they can tell me is I have an auto immune disorder and are not sure if I have MS but that I am NOT having a stroke.  Hmmmmmm.  Time to take control of my own health I would say.  I am very excited to learn their system and to then implement it into my life, for life.  I am looking forward to vibrant and vital health.  So, it looks like I may be on green juice forever and much healthier for it.  So, my final thought for this day is:

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food"
— Hippocrates
